The Oscars 2017 -Dev Patel- Red Carpet meets Saree
The Indian-origin actor and Oscar winner Dev Patel was nominated for the best supporting role category at the 89th Academy Awards for ‘Lion‘ was seen at the red carpet sporting a white tuxedo and he looked charming, but what was most beautiful was when he showed up with his mother Anita Patel, who was seen wearing a saree. And at that moment became the talk of the evening.
Patel’s mother complimented him well in a Black velvet Saree with minimal make up and although Patel didn’t make the Oscars but the mother-son duo took home the award for the best supporting mother.
After winning a lot of hearts with his exceptional acting in the 2009 blockbuster ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, Patel’s new movie ‘Lion’ which is based on the real-life story of Saroo Brieley who tries to find his long lost family in India by using Google Maps. He was nominated for the best supporting actor in the film.
But I guess bringing his mom to the Oscars might be just his way of portraying his love for family as an extension of the emotions and longingness for family bond shown in the movie, but still people couldn’t get it out of their heads and they found this act to be the cutest thing on twitter, when Patel was holding his mother’s hands.
Like any proud mom Anita Patel was really happy for her son and the emotional attachment between them could be felt on the red carpet. Even though Dev might have lost to Mahershala Ali for the Best Supporting Actor Award, but he definitely won the hearts of a lot of people that day.
Also joining him was the 8-year-old Sunny Pawar who played the role of young Sarro in the movie. He was seen wearing a black suit with colourful sneakers making the Oscar-fashion cool and trendy in his own cute way.
